The Northwest Jr. Lady Lions Basketball program is the official feeder basketball program for the Northwest High School Basketball program and is intended to serve the needs of the youth girls in the Northwest School District interested in participating in basketball. The purpose is to provide a positive, structured environment in either a competitive or recreational league. Our goal is to allow individuals to develop their skills and abilities at the level in which is best suitable for them. Our number one priority is to teach the girls the fundamental skills of basketball to the best of our ability. The program is run by a group of volunteers that are not paid in any way and simply do it for the enjoyment and love of the game. The league headed by League Director David Brand, with the assistance of Assistant Program Directors Jim Hoffman and John Eimer. Non-basketball / Off the court activities are headed by our Jr. Lady Lions Booster Director Anna Williams. Our coaches are community and parent volunteers. We have teams in grades 1st thru 8th grade. In grades 3rd-8th, we will have one “select” or “A” level team as well as several recreational level teams. The “select/A” level teams will play in a more advanced league against very strong competition. The rec level teams will play 7 games in the Fox basketball league as well as 3 games down at Northwest Valley to fill out their schedule to ten games. The 1st/2nd grade teams play a slightly shorter schedule with 8 games. We place all kids where they have the best chance to play in a competitive situation based on their experience & skill level.
